Man City v West Ham Betting Tips & Preview
Man City v West Ham – Sunday 16:00, Sky Sports
Things are looking pretty bleak for David Moyes’s West Ham after a 4-0 drubbing at Everton. They were leading 2-1 at Crystal Palace five weeks ago when Jose Fonte limped off and since then they’ve conceded a last minute equaliser in that game before conceding 11 times in the next four on their way to just one point. A trip to record-breakers City then is the last thing they need.
City have looked a little tired recently but their winning run is still growing and in their last 10 home matches they’ve scored 36 times. We certainly don’t expect the Hammers to end the run and the question is more of how to back the Citizens. As bad as they’ve been defensively the Hammers have also struggled going forwards and they’ve failed to score in seven of their last 12 on the road with four of their five away defeats this season coming to nil. That includes a 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford in their only trip to one of the ‘Big Six’ this term.
Given that, we suspect this game will stay below four goals. City have lacked a bit of their early season cutting edge recently and they’ve scored just seven times in four games across all competitions since the international break. 2.38 for Under 3.5 Goalsis a big price and four of the Hammers’ last five matches following a defeat have actually settled as Under 2.5.
Gabriel Jesus scored his first ever City goal against West Ham last season and has seven goals in his last eight starts in the league. He’ll surely fancy his chances of adding to that tally here and we’ll have a punt on him opening the scoring
